layout firm puntofilipino studio has completed the interior of a pre-present apartment in milan, italy, bridging the hole involving vintage and modern day architecture with the use of memphis-motivated aesthetics. drawing impact from the artwork deco and pop art movements, the layout attributes an eclectic sequence of hues, synthetic resources such as laminate and terrazzo, and crazy geometry, to stand out as a cheeky rebuke to the minimalist aesthetic and stylish austerity of mid-century modernism.

puntofilipino’s design seeks to not only bridge the gap concerning outdated architecture and memphis aesthetics, but also to counter the classic aesthetic of mid-century modernity. by applying enjoyment styles and bright shades that stretch out from the partitions to the metallic joinery and plaster cornices, the carpets and curtains, to a harmonious choice of home furniture, the architects have generated an energetic style full of contrasting visible things.

typical motifs and components are presented in a post-modern-day interpretation, delivering the interior with a considerably ironic and multi-layered character. the coloration palette showcases gray, blue, and black tones, when shiny brick purple emerges as their antagonist. the puntofilipino team selected the walls as the primary room for experimentation. in the dwelling room and in the kitchen area, two kinds of terracotta tiles and a contrasting corrugated edge were applied, masking the base of the walls and counter tops with white and blue patterned marble. in the meantime, in the dining home, the wallpaper gets to be virtually three-dimensional: a mother nature-impressed fresco literally slides around the cornice.

using the identical active structure, the designers have determined monumental arched openings, the classic form of which echoes the stucco ceiling cornice and regular terrazzo on the floor. in purchase to produce a contrast to the classic layout and decor, modernist home furnishings in loaded tones adorn the total apartment: a coral couch, a blue armchair, a table with blue legs, and black chairs with yellow seats. the bedroom has a additional austere and graphic seem, with a vivid marble pattern that contrasts with the hand-drawn ovals on ornamenta’s manifesto tiles. made by pani jurek, the TRN tubular lamp in attractive terracotta looks like a hanging sculpture.
