JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The News4JAX I-Staff is on the lookout into grievances about a Jacksonville condominium intricate exactly where some citizens say they’re offended by the language used in an e mail from their house supervisor.

In the message warning hundreds of citizens of Lofts at Brooklyn to quit loitering in the parking whole lot, house supervisor Nicole Youngblood writes in aspect:

A resident who spoke with the I-Team explained the e-mail was sent final Wednesday to all of the residents of the complex among Riverside and downtown. She phone calls the language of “we are not the hood” socially tone-deaf.


“The local climate that we’re in appropriate now, it seriously just variety of felt quite hurtful in a way,” explained the renter, who did not want to be identified out of dread of retaliation. “What they may perhaps consider what the hood is like a bunch of folks hanging out, everyone just chatting or nevertheless they contemplate the hood, I’m not sure, but I felt like they ended up referring to it in a derogatory phrase.”
